This Web Story features Therrel Shane Childers, First Lieutenant in the Marine Corps. Born in 1972, he served in the Marines for 23 years before being killed in action in 2003. He was the first American life lost in Operation Iraqi Freedom and posthumously received the Purple Heart. We honor his service.
